Mediasite by Sonic Foundry named Best Webcasting/Presentation Solution

MADISON, Wis. - Sonic Foundry, Inc.(NASDAQ: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcastinglecture capture and knowledge management, has been voted Best Webcasting/Presentations Solution in the Streaming Media Readers' Choice Awards.

The awards, established in 2007 to honor the success of streaming technology and services companies fueling industry growth, are unique in that the winners are selected by the end users. The awards were presented during a reception at Streaming Media West, and webcast by Sonic Foundry. View the ceremony at www.sonicfoundry.com/smrca.

"We were overwhelmed and thrilled by the response we got to this year's Readers' Choice Awards," said Streaming Media editor Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen. "More than 7,000 people cast more than 58,000 votes in 22 categories, which means that the average voter had their say in 8 categories. That's a testament not only to the quality of the products and services provided by the finalists and winners, but also to the continued vitality and growth in the online video industry."

Mediasite was named Best Webcasting Platform by Streaming Media Readers for three consecutive years in 20072008 and 2009, and also named Best Webcasting Platform in the 2009 Streaming Media Europe Readers' Choice Awards, the only US company recognized that year.

"To garner votes in support of Mediasite for the Streaming Media Readers' Choice Award is a testament to our ability to not only have the right solution for this moment in time, but also the vision that allows for growth over four consecutive years. We are thankful for the loyalty and dedication of our customers and partners who use our platform to share knowledge and increase collaboration within their organizations on an increasingly larger scale," said Rimas Buinevicius, chairman and CEO of Sonic Foundry.

Since its introduction in 2003, Sonic Foundry's webcasting platform has set the standard for delivering exceptional instruction and sharing knowledge online. Trusted by educational institutions, corporations and government, the patented Mediasite webcasting and content management system automates the capture and management of multimedia presentations that combine audio, video and accompanying graphics for live or on-demand viewing.
