Moverio AR Smart Glasses Enable Seamless Collaboration and Expanded Accessibility

May 24, 2023 - As a world-leader in smart glasses, Epson America, Inc., will be demonstrating its Moverio® augmented reality (AR) smart glasses at the Augmented World Expo (AWE) in booth #1143.

AWE is the HQ for everything spatial computing, including AR, VR, MR, and enabling technologies such as AI, bio-interfaces, haptics, 5G, streaming, and more. The mission of AWE is to help the XR community advance AR and VR technology to further human progress. With the industry successfully reaching the milestone of one billion active users of AR in 2020, over the next decade AWE aims to guide the industry’s attention towards its own core objectives of enabling people across the globe to learn, connect and grow within the XR industry.

Epson’s booth demos will include:

  • Smart Workforce Collaboration and Remote Assistance – At Epson’s booth, AWE attendees will be able to demo the Moverio BT-45CS smart glasses with the TeamViewer Assist AR remote assistance software that enables hands-free, “see-what-I-see” collaboration between on-site technicians and remote experts. Purpose-built for mission-critical tasks, including troubleshooting, maintenance, inspection, and training, the Moverio BT-45CS helps enhance efficiency, improve safety and reduce downtime.
  • Enhanced Immersive Experiences and Expanded Accessibility – Epson will also be showcasing the Moverio BT-40S AR smart glasses with Birket Engineering inThrall software. Together, the Moverio BT-40S smart glasses and inThrall allow immersive environments to be made more accessible for all guests by providing text captioning on shows, rides and live action theaters or plays. Designed to deliver a high-quality AR viewing experience with maximum comfort, the Moverio BT-40S smart glasses offer a wider field of view (FOV), Full HD 1080p display resolution, high contrast, and improved connectivity.

When: AWE will take place Wednesday, May 31 through Friday, June 2, with the expo open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 2.

Where: Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.; Epson booth #1143.

Why: Due to travel restrictions, immersive AR technology for remote assistance has accelerated in the past few years. Today, many businesses are continuing to implement AR remote assistance to help enhance work efficiency, save costs and improve workplace safety. Epson has been a world-leader in smart glasses for over 10 years and is dedicated to bringing the power of AR to a variety of industries and applications, delivering the latest AR technologies and innovations with a focus on image quality, comfort and durability required to meet and expand business needs.
